Open mic - the lowdown

Singapore Art Cafe: The Next Hot Venue For A Cappella Music

Singapore Art Cafe The Next Hot Venue For A Cappella Music The Singapore Art Cafe ( SAC ) will be holding its first a cappella open mic session on July 12. The Café’s open mic sessions ~ dubbed “ GOT! ”, which is short for Gathering Of Talents ~ are held regularly on Wednesday evenings and usually feature acoustic contemporary pop, light rock and jazz music performed by local and locally-based musicians, singers and songwriters. On July 12 however, the only musical sounds floating out of the SAC would be vocal ones. No instruments will be used. Vocollision and M18 will perform familiar numbers cleverly arranged to suit vocal bands. The evening will be rounded off with a jamming session for those in the audience who are up to it. The SAC commenced operations on Dec 21, 2005. Located within the library@Esplanade, the Cafe houses a mini-gallery and a performing stage for visual artists and musicians to showcase their works and talents. The SAC strives to help nurture the local arts sc
