Changes in Sunday Vocal Jam : Urgent!

Hi everyone, much to our dismay, we have to make an urgent announcement on the changes made by the Organizers at the Arts House on The A Cappella Society's Sunday Vocal Jam programme this Sunday. We apologize for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your kindattention and patience. Here are the changes:

(1) CHANGE OF TIME - Start time 5pm (our usual jam time is 3pm)
(2) CHANGE OF PROGAMME - Neri Per Caso(half an hour appearance & jam instead of their expected presence forthe full jam) This is the Updated Programme
(3) Layout:
  • 5.00 pm - 5.05pm Welcome & Intro
  • 5.05pm - 5.20pm Warm Ups
  • 5.20pm - 5.30pm Vocal Percussion by Peter Huang
  • 5.30pm - 6.00pm - Neri Per Caso
  • 6.00pm - 6.45pm - Jam Continues

The House Jacks in Singapore!!

Review: Our local percussionist star, Peter Huang opened the show for the House Jacks (HJs). He introduced a song or 2 from his debut solo album which the instruments were vocalised by him using layering to create a 'band sound'. However, the audience didn't take to his performance. It was grating to the ears when he made certain sounds: more like noise than music to the ears. There was a slight limp in his leg since his recovery from an accident, which prevented him from dancing around the stage too much. I think it's better that he sticks to his vocal percussion than his weak singing or hiphop rap. People were more impressed with his percussion than him singing or rapping. Good & tight harmony I would say. If you have heard Wes Carrol, the group percussionist, Peter Huang seem amateurish. Real solid vocal percussion from Wes.
