The GOT! (stands for Gathering of Talents) showcase at the Singapore Art Cafe was brimming with talents. Such that a big group of curious library visitors stopped by the cafe to watch the showcase at the cafe.
The first in the lineup was an acoustic trio of 2 guys and a lady named Soul Session who set the mood for a time of good music. Nextly a young a cappella mixed sextet Beats and Pieces appropriately gave the audience a good idea of what a cappella is by singing a doowop piece"Good Ol' A Cappella" as the first song.
The group even sang hits of the early 1990s as "I Do" by now-defunct boyband 98 Degree and current hits like Maroon 5's "She Will Be Loved" Despite irregularities in pitching, the group didn't fail to lose their composure to hold the audience's attention as the audience asked for encore.
However, the highlight of the evening was the beatboxer duo Michelle and Charles who captivated the audience with their vocal band antics - beatboxing + guitar + vocals. It was indeed admirable for a girl like Michelle to be able to beatbox as it is usually male-dominated. But yes, it was really impressive presenting R&B hits in such a style as to the response of the audience. Which makes one wish to have more of this duo.
