One More Night @ blue Moo with... After Six



An evening of outdoor A Cappella music by local all-guy group After Six.
 
Its been 2 years since the guys got together and sadly, it is time to move on. This night of music is held both to thank the group's fans for their support and also to say farewell to Taku, the group's Alto, who will be returning to Japan soon. The songs selected are a culmination of the group's endeavours and growth, consisting of the usual favourites and also some never before performed pieces to be showcased on the night itself. If you fancy a poolside balcony setting overlooking the city with good drinks to spend your Friday night, this would be it. At the same time have a listen to music from the guys with the ridiculously wide vocal range, and the combination of voices you are not likely to ever hear again.

If you are primarily a  beatboxer / vocal percussionist , please give us a  demonstration (approx 2-3 mins) , which can include anything and everything you’re comfortable with (straight-ahead beats, fills, freestyle beatboxing, etc).  ALSO, please include a segment where you do a simple beat at a comfortable tempo along with a metronome.  No need to be flashy for this part, we just want to see that you can keep a solid tempo. The House Jacks in Singapore!!

Review: Our local percussionist star, Peter Huang opened the show for the House Jacks (HJs). He introduced a song or 2 from his debut solo album which the instruments were vocalised by him using layering to create a 'band sound'. However, the audience didn't take to his performance. It was grating to the ears when he made certain sounds: more like noise than music to the ears. There was a slight limp in his leg since his recovery from an accident, which prevented him from dancing around the stage too much. I think it's better that he sticks to his vocal percussion than his weak singing or hiphop rap. People were more impressed with his percussion than him singing or rapping. Good & tight harmony I would say. If you have heard Wes Carrol, the group percussionist, Peter Huang seem amateurish. Real solid vocal percussion from Wes. INTERNATIONAL A CAPPELLA FESTIVAL 14 -18OCT 2009 The A Cappella Society would like to invite you to our International A Cappella Festival for 2009. The Festival will take place at the Esplanade Recital Studio and The Arts House Chamber. It will be spread over a period of 5 days, beginning on the 14th of October 2009 and ending on the 18th of October 2009. The International A Cappella Festival will showcase performances from 4 different foreign groups compromising of Permanent Fish from Japan, Rock 4 from The Netherlands, MayTree from Korea and Tux from The Philippines.
