Lush.Pop.Jazz sounds of Vocaluptuous this Dec !


Catch Vocaluptuous in their fourth full length concert this December, from 19 - 23 Dec @ the Esplanade Theatre Studio ! They'll be singing a brand-new repertoire of familiar favourites, pushing the limits of a cappella with their Lush.Pop.Jazz arrangements!

Let Sam Kan, Timothy Huang, Simone Khoo, Gerald Tan, John Lee and Hazrul Nizam dazzle you with their lush harmonies, pop delights and jazz revelries in an uber-classy theatrical setting. Get up close and personal in this warm, intimate show staged and directed by Jeremiah Choy, and embark on a journey of more than just a cappella singing with these six highly entertaining individuals.

Joining Vocaluptuous at the piano is special guest, Eunice Olsen. A woman of many talents and an accomplished jazz pianist, this former nominated Member of Parliament is set to wow the audience with her deft fingers and sparkling personality. So come join the group for an evening of great music with the Lush.Pop.Jazz sounds of Vocaluptuous.

The House Jacks in Singapore!!

Review: Our local percussionist star, Peter Huang opened the show for the House Jacks (HJs). He introduced a song or 2 from his debut solo album which the instruments were vocalised by him using layering to create a 'band sound'. However, the audience didn't take to his performance. It was grating to the ears when he made certain sounds: more like noise than music to the ears. There was a slight limp in his leg since his recovery from an accident, which prevented him from dancing around the stage too much. I think it's better that he sticks to his vocal percussion than his weak singing or hiphop rap. People were more impressed with his percussion than him singing or rapping. Good & tight harmony I would say. If you have heard Wes Carrol, the group percussionist, Peter Huang seem amateurish. Real solid vocal percussion from Wes. International A Cappella Festival for 2009 info

INTERNATIONAL A CAPPELLA FESTIVAL 14 -18OCT 2009 The A Cappella Society would like to invite you to our International A Cappella Festival for 2009. The Festival will take place at the Esplanade Recital Studio and The Arts House Chamber. It will be spread over a period of 5 days, beginning on the 14th of October 2009 and ending on the 18th of October 2009. The International A Cappella Festival will showcase performances from 4 different foreign groups compromising of Permanent Fish from Japan, Rock 4 from The Netherlands, MayTree from Korea and Tux from The Philippines.
