VoCollision presents Songs in the Key of V on 11 Sep !

VoCollision is holding an inaugural showcase, meant specially for their dear friends and supporters - take it as the VoCo way of saying thank you!

Let them serenade you with their unique blend of contemporary pop, ...old-school smooth jazz and easy bossa nova (or perhaps, even K-Pop too?) Expect delightful sprinkles of ...zesty flair, cheeky renditions, modern twists, and a lot of laughter undern...eath a starry sky.

Joined by vocal percussionist Peter Huang of MICappella, VoCo promise an evening of fun, friends and lush harmonies. Come down, show your support, and join 'em in enjoying the music!

TICKET RESERVATIONS / PURCHASE

Tickets can be easily acquired in many ways. Remember to get them before the 4th of September to enjoy the early-bird discount! The first (and easiest) would be to contact any of the VoCollision members directly to make your reservation! The second would be to just show up at the venue itself and purchase tickets at the door. Please note that this is subject to ticket availability, and you will no longer be entitled to an early-bird discount.

To avoid disappointment from sold-out tickets, the third way would be for you to make a ticket reservation via email. Upon verification of your reservation, tickets will then be held at the door for your pick-up on the showcase date itself. The House Jacks in Singapore!!

Review: Our local percussionist star, Peter Huang opened the show for the House Jacks (HJs). He introduced a song or 2 from his debut solo album which the instruments were vocalised by him using layering to create a 'band sound'. However, the audience didn't take to his performance. It was grating to the ears when he made certain sounds: more like noise than music to the ears. There was a slight limp in his leg since his recovery from an accident, which prevented him from dancing around the stage too much. I think it's better that he sticks to his vocal percussion than his weak singing or hiphop rap. People were more impressed with his percussion than him singing or rapping. Good & tight harmony I would say. If you have heard Wes Carrol, the group percussionist, Peter Huang seem amateurish. Real solid vocal percussion from Wes. INTERNATIONAL A CAPPELLA FESTIVAL 14 -18OCT 2009 The A Cappella Society would like to invite you to our International A Cappella Festival for 2009. The Festival will take place at the Esplanade Recital Studio and The Arts House Chamber. It will be spread over a period of 5 days, beginning on the 14th of October 2009 and ending on the 18th of October 2009. The International A Cappella Festival will showcase performances from 4 different foreign groups compromising of Permanent Fish from Japan, Rock 4 from The Netherlands, MayTree from Korea and Tux from The Philippines.
