An update on Key Elements' upcoming performance and album launch

Hello folks,
Top jazz-pop a cappella group, Key Elements  ('KE' for short) have been busy these past few months learning and recording material for our next album, which will be filled with original material written and arranged by the group’s baritone cum music director, Jason Ong. As they are not backed by any recording label, and because the recording process is a rather capital-intensive exercise, they are in need of funds to complete this album. As such, they have teamed up with Pledge Music, a company that specialises in crowdfunding.

We’re really excited to invite you, our dear friends and fans, to be a part of the new album in a unique and interactive way. By working with PledgeMusic, we can offer you early access to new music, exclusive items, and goodies.

We have started recording this album, and your pledge will help us to see it through! By pledging for a digital download of the new album (or any other exclusives listed), you’ll gain access to a “Pledger only updates” section. Here, we’ll post blogs, videos and more throughout the campaign so you stay in the loop on everything we’re up to. This is exclusive to pledgers, and not available to anyone else. The more you pledge, the cooler your reward! And do proceed to pledge even if it shows that we have achieved 100% of our target, as that figure is just the lower estimate of the backing we feel we can expect through this platform.

I hope you will support KE in the creation of this album of original songs. Thanks for taking the time to read this message, and we hope you'll help to spread the word. And thanks in advance for pledging!

In conjunction with this project, we will be launching our album officially on 25th October 2013, at the Esplanade Theatre, Recital Studio, 9pm. Tickets for this event go on sale on 15th August 2013, so be sure to get your tickets either through Esplanade or Sistic!

And to the early birds who have already pledged their support - thanks for getting us over 30% in the first 3 days!

The House Jacks in Singapore!!

Review: Our local percussionist star, Peter Huang opened the show for the House Jacks (HJs). He introduced a song or 2 from his debut solo album which the instruments were vocalised by him using layering to create a 'band sound'. However, the audience didn't take to his performance. It was grating to the ears when he made certain sounds: more like noise than music to the ears. There was a slight limp in his leg since his recovery from an accident, which prevented him from dancing around the stage too much. I think it's better that he sticks to his vocal percussion than his weak singing or hiphop rap. People were more impressed with his percussion than him singing or rapping. Good & tight harmony I would say. If you have heard Wes Carrol, the group percussionist, Peter Huang seem amateurish. Real solid vocal percussion from Wes. The bass is Bert Bacco, showing off his really deep rumble. Next is Deke Sharon and Garth Kravitis, the group's vocal instrumentalist wh
