Hi folks, Just a gentle reminder that Sunday Vocal Jam is this Sunday (22nd FEB) at our favourite haunt , Mox Bar & Cafe at a new time slot from 3pm - 5pm. Admission is FREE!

Sign up early! We'll be singing a retro hit, We Built This City by Starship and a current hit by Jay Chou entitled Long Juan Feng.

This month we will be featuring the ladies of NANU, who will perform 3 songs for us. Not forgetting our resident group, Resonance, who will be there to assist in the jamming. March Vocal Jam: Special guests will be flown in all the way from Italy for the Official Opening of The Old Parliament House. TAS has been invited to share this special occasion with them by collaborating with this superb group on their grounds. Watch this space for more news!

The House Jacks in Singapore!!

Review: Our local percussionist star, Peter Huang opened the show for the House Jacks (HJs). He introduced a song or 2 from his debut solo album which the instruments were vocalised by him using layering to create a 'band sound'. However, the audience didn't take to his performance. It was grating to the ears when he made certain sounds: more like noise than music to the ears. There was a slight limp in his leg since his recovery from an accident, which prevented him from dancing around the stage too much. I think it's better that he sticks to his vocal percussion than his weak singing or hiphop rap. People were more impressed with his percussion than him singing or rapping. Good & tight harmony I would say. If you have heard Wes Carrol, the group percussionist, Peter Huang seem amateurish. Real solid vocal percussion from Wes. INTERNATIONAL A CAPPELLA FESTIVAL 14 -18OCT 2009 The A Cappella Society would like to invite you to our International A Cappella Festival for 2009. The Festival will take place at the Esplanade Recital Studio and The Arts House Chamber. It will be spread over a period of 5 days, beginning on the 14th of October 2009 and ending on the 18th of October 2009. The International A Cappella Festival will showcase performances from 4 different foreign groups compromising of Permanent Fish from Japan, Rock 4 from The Netherlands, MayTree from Korea and Tux from The Philippines. This year’s line up of a cappella teams features a variety of musical styles with rock music from Queen, Police & Sting by Rock 4 (Netherlands), Pop from Permanent Fish (Japan), Korean Pop from MayTree and the golden oldies and familiar favorites from Tux (Philippines).
