October’s jam will be presented by Acappuccino, who will bring us a short performance and leading a jam - putting together a song with everybody. Happening every last Sunday of the month, our Sunday Vocal Jams are a fuss free way of being part of the A Cappella action that is sweeping the world by storm with easy tunes and showcasing different groups!

TAS Workshop Series - Introduction To Complete Vocal Technique

The Complete Vocal Technique is a singing method developed from Catherine Sadolin, and it serves not only as a scientifically researched and proven system but more importantly as a form of effective communication among singers and teachers. A training programme that aims to equip our teachers, singers and practitioners with the right mix of fundamentals to start and sustain your own contemporary a cappella groups or pop choirs in your schools. Christmas is a great time for us to spread joy through song and if you’re looking to sing with a group to spread Christmas cheer, look no further through our special training sessions where you’ll be put through vocal and ensemble training for our Christmas caroling period! The House Jacks in Singapore!!

Review: Our local percussionist star, Peter Huang opened the show for the House Jacks (HJs). He introduced a song or 2 from his debut solo album which the instruments were vocalised by him using layering to create a 'band sound'. However, the audience didn't take to his performance. It was grating to the ears when he made certain sounds: more like noise than music to the ears. There was a slight limp in his leg since his recovery from an accident, which prevented him from dancing around the stage too much. I think it's better that he sticks to his vocal percussion than his weak singing or hiphop rap. People were more impressed with his percussion than him singing or rapping. Good & tight harmony I would say. If you have heard Wes Carrol, the group percussionist, Peter Huang seem amateurish. Real solid vocal percussion from Wes. International A Cappella Festival for 2009 info

INTERNATIONAL A CAPPELLA FESTIVAL 14 -18OCT 2009 The A Cappella Society would like to invite you to our International A Cappella Festival for 2009. The Festival will take place at the Esplanade Recital Studio and The Arts House Chamber. It will be spread over a period of 5 days, beginning on the 14th of October 2009 and ending on the 18th of October 2009. The International A Cappella Festival will showcase performances from 4 different foreign groups compromising of Permanent Fish from Japan, Rock 4 from The Netherlands, MayTree from Korea and Tux from The Philippines. This year’s line up of a cappella teams features a variety of musical styles with rock music from Queen, Police & Sting by Rock 4 (Netherlands), Pop from Permanent Fish (Japan), Korean Pop from MayTree and the golden oldies and familiar favorites from Tux (Philippines).
