Tic Tac Tone with the Necessary Stage

Helloo Everyone! Must be wondering why it is "oh so quiet" at TTT.Well, we have been working like crazy for this upcoming theatre performance with The Necessary Stage (TNS) for the last couple of months. I've enclosed the following email on this upcoming play and do come see us in a new form of art.

The Necessary Stage and South East CDC present a brand new playaboutmusic> and the role it plays in our lives. From the people that broughtyou the successful and entertaining Close - In My Face and Oh Man!.

Devised during rehearsals and incorporating the stories andmemories of those from our neighbourhood, Sing Song pays tribute to the soundtracks of people's lives. Come and meet the little boy who's a P. Ramlee fan; Uncle Zouk, the 55-year-old who goes clubbing every week; Moona, the Malay housewife, and her musician husband King; the friend lost in a tape recording;the sonwho begins to learn more about his father and life through a Mozart recording; Makcik Power, the talkshow host; Gloria Estefan's no.1 fan; andother> characters.

Come and hear original compositions from Lim Kay Siu, Gani AbdulKarim and hearing-impaired songwriter Jonathan Lim, including 'The Balding Song', 'She's Beautiful', 'Trembling', Whispers of Love' and 'You Are MyStar'.

Look out also for our other community collaborators -- award-winning a cappella group Tic Tac Tone and karaoke enthusiast Abel Tan. Tickets available from SISTIC now. The House Jacks in Singapore!!

Review: Our local percussionist star, Peter Huang opened the show for the House Jacks (HJs). He introduced a song or 2 from his debut solo album which the instruments were vocalised by him using layering to create a 'band sound'. However, the audience didn't take to his performance. It was grating to the ears when he made certain sounds: more like noise than music to the ears. There was a slight limp in his leg since his recovery from an accident, which prevented him from dancing around the stage too much. I think it's better that he sticks to his vocal percussion than his weak singing or hiphop rap. People were more impressed with his percussion than him singing or rapping. Good & tight harmony I would say. If you have heard Wes Carrol, the group percussionist, Peter Huang seem amateurish. Real solid vocal percussion from Wes. INTERNATIONAL A CAPPELLA FESTIVAL 14 -18OCT 2009 The A Cappella Society would like to invite you to our International A Cappella Festival for 2009. The Festival will take place at the Esplanade Recital Studio and The Arts House Chamber. It will be spread over a period of 5 days, beginning on the 14th of October 2009 and ending on the 18th of October 2009. The International A Cappella Festival will showcase performances from 4 different foreign groups compromising of Permanent Fish from Japan, Rock 4 from The Netherlands, MayTree from Korea and Tux from The Philippines.
