Wacky, cool and extremely easy-going, this group of talented singers and performers have been singing for more than half of their lives. Great stage presence, unique a cappella arrangements of English, Indonesian and even Mandarin pop songs are just 2 highlights of this concert.


4th December : SHANGHAI AMERICAN SCHOOL

Join our guests from the Shanghai American Misddle School at the Botanic Gardens alongside our local musicians in a concert entitled An Evening in December. Made up of 2 barbershop ensembles, this group of young and lively singers will entertain you at the Botanic Gardens at 6pm

The House Jacks in Singapore!!

Review: Our local percussionist star, Peter Huang opened the show for the House Jacks (HJs). He introduced a song or 2 from his debut solo album which the instruments were vocalised by him using layering to create a 'band sound'. However, the audience didn't take to his performance. It was grating to the ears when he made certain sounds: more like noise than music to the ears. There was a slight limp in his leg since his recovery from an accident, which prevented him from dancing around the stage too much. I think it's better that he sticks to his vocal percussion than his weak singing or hiphop rap. People were more impressed with his percussion than him singing or rapping. Good & tight harmony I would say. If you have heard Wes Carrol, the group percussionist, Peter Huang seem amateurish. Real solid vocal percussion from Wes. International A Cappella Festival for 2009 info

INTERNATIONAL A CAPPELLA FESTIVAL 14 -18OCT 2009 The A Cappella Society would like to invite you to our International A Cappella Festival for 2009. The Festival will take place at the Esplanade Recital Studio and The Arts House Chamber. It will be spread over a period of 5 days, beginning on the 14th of October 2009 and ending on the 18th of October 2009. The International A Cappella Festival will showcase performances from 4 different foreign groups compromising of Permanent Fish from Japan, Rock 4 from The Netherlands, MayTree from Korea and Tux from The Philippines. This year’s line up of a cappella teams features a variety of musical styles with rock music from Queen, Police & Sting by Rock 4 (Netherlands), Pop from Permanent Fish (Japan), Korean Pop from MayTree and the golden oldies and familiar favorites from Tux (Philippines).
