Angie emailed me the above notice & prob a few others. Sad that it's only for 1 day. The workshops are great !!! A lot of ppl went for vocal percussion & pop singing workshops. Response for Larry's clinic wasn't too great as there were only 8 ppl in his last slot, sad isn't ?? :(
Juz last Sat 4 Dec, i went wiv Grace to help out Angie @ Camp Acapella. It's sup 2b a 3-day thing but many signed for 1 day. So Grace & meself helped out on da setup on Fri. We find the Sch of Design like "xiao". Now both of us can call level 2 of NAFA our "territory"!!!

How did i get such a "lobang" when Edmund from Resonance asked me. Well....... dur. d Sunday Vocal Jam for (28 Nov), Angie asked around for volunteers to be "door-gods". I thot it interesting to experience how to be behind-d-scenes of a workshop, so grace & meself volunteered ourselves...... can go 4 FREE mah......

Made some new younger-than-me frens like Jeremy, Joel & Natalie & their bunch. Interestingly dat i could talk to them... Pasted signs all ova da place @ NAFA............ Swingle singers & Larry Dewilter were the clinicians in the acapella workshop. Me, being my independent self, literally walked about in betwn rooms. it's an interesting workshop, ranging frm basic vocal tech to scatting to vocal percuss as well as stage choreo for Soul Bossa Nova, which everyone enjoyed tremendously...

The House Jacks in Singapore!!

Review: Our local percussionist star, Peter Huang opened the show for the House Jacks (HJs). He introduced a song or 2 from his debut solo album which the instruments were vocalised by him using layering to create a 'band sound'. However, the audience didn't take to his performance. It was grating to the ears when he made certain sounds: more like noise than music to the ears. There was a slight limp in his leg since his recovery from an accident, which prevented him from dancing around the stage too much. I think it's better that he sticks to his vocal percussion than his weak singing or hiphop rap. People were more impressed with his percussion than him singing or rapping. Good & tight harmony I would say. If you have heard Wes Carrol, the group percussionist, Peter Huang seem amateurish. Real solid vocal percussion from Wes. The bass is Bert Bacco, showing off his really deep rumble. Next is Deke Sharon and Garth Kravitis, the group's vocal instrumentalist wh
