A Capella Attack! This event is co-organised by the National ParksBoard and National Arts Council.

National Parks Board and National Arts Councilwill be rolling out a new series of freeperformances together at West Coast Park from18th December 2004.

Entitled A Cappella Attack! Park Series, a total of 12 concerts, the series will presentperformances by Singapores very owntalented A Cappella groups. A Cappella : Singingwithout the use of instruments, shows only theprowess of the voices and the creativity of thevocals, mind and body to perform music oftenperformed with a band. Its a new and excitingphenomenon!Join us as we celebrate this festive season withthe first performance by Verve Enharmonics, atwo girls and three guys group.

Asia's up and coming Beat Boxer, Peter Huang,will also be delivering his solo vocal percussionperformance, showcasing differentinstrumentations with his voices and lead in avocal workout session.Admission is Free for ALL Events! The House Jacks in Singapore!!

Review: Our local percussionist star, Peter Huang opened the show for the House Jacks (HJs). He introduced a song or 2 from his debut solo album which the instruments were vocalised by him using layering to create a 'band sound'. However, the audience didn't take to his performance. It was grating to the ears when he made certain sounds: more like noise than music to the ears. There was a slight limp in his leg since his recovery from an accident, which prevented him from dancing around the stage too much. I think it's better that he sticks to his vocal percussion than his weak singing or hiphop rap. People were more impressed with his percussion than him singing or rapping. Good & tight harmony I would say. If you have heard Wes Carrol, the group percussionist, Peter Huang seem amateurish. Real solid vocal percussion from Wes. INTERNATIONAL A CAPPELLA FESTIVAL 14 -18OCT 2009 The A Cappella Society would like to invite you to our International A Cappella Festival for 2009. The Festival will take place at the Esplanade Recital Studio and The Arts House Chamber. It will be spread over a period of 5 days, beginning on the 14th of October 2009 and ending on the 18th of October 2009. The International A Cappella Festival will showcase performances from 4 different foreign groups compromising of Permanent Fish from Japan, Rock 4 from The Netherlands, MayTree from Korea and Tux from The Philippines.
